Norfolk botanical Garden Summer Wedding

Tamara & Alix

Tamara and I sat down weeks before her wedding to plan out her timeline.  We had everything figured out, and then the week of her wedding I received a call that they were changing the location and the time of the wedding due to weather.

I am always impressed by calm brides, especially calm brides on rainy days. But Tamara was impeccably calm through the weather, the shifting timeline, and changing location she had never even set eyes on. Tamara and Alix live in Atlanta, so when the forecast for last Saturday began looking worse and worse, Tamara’s mom stepped up and made a change of plans!

The Norfolk Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful outdoor venue locations in the area. It has many different floral locations for bridal shots, first looks, and family photos. Tamara and I were both shocked that the venue was still available just a week before the September 2nd wedding date! And it offered a covered area in case of rain! It was perfect.

The rain held off all morning, for the most part! But just after the first kiss during the ceremony, it really started coming down. Norfolk Botanical Garden staff quickly passed out umbrellas to all of the guests and as soon as the bride and groom walked the aisle, everyone scurried off and loaded into trams to head back to the indoor reception. Everything about this wedding, from the change of location, to the timing of the rain, was just perfect.

Alix and Tamara are the kind of people who surround themselves with positive, fun people. Their energy, apart and together, is radiant. Through the celebration, it was so clear to me to see how close Tamara and Alix both are to their families and how willing their families were to do anything to make this day perfect!

Please enjoy the photos of this stunning couple at the beautiful Norfolk Botanical Garden.

The beautiful tennis bracelet off to the left was a gift from the groom's parents! How beautiful!

We were just about to walk out the door when we turned around and realized all of the groomsmen had ditched their shirts. We just HAD to get a few photos of that!

Tamara's mom insisted we take some cake for the road. We obeyed happily :)
