Abby’s senior portrait session was one of my favorite sessions to photograph.
First, the location we decided on together was a magical little spot my husband and I stumbled upon on a hike one day. I snapped a few iPhone photos on the hike and dreamt about the day I would convince someone to hike to this spot with me for photos. This session was that day! With a change of shoes and a backpack full of outfit options, Abby and her mom hiked the uphill trail with Greg and me.
Secondly, Abby was a natural in front of my camera and came up with posing options on her own at times. It truly felt like we were working together as a team to create these photos! Her bangs were wind swept in most shots- honestly something that I love about this session- but even small movements she made to fix her hair felt like perfect photo opportunities.
Lastly, it’s sessions like this that make me love California. We may live in the desert, but we are a short drive away from rolling mountains and fields of golden foliage. We took full advantage of our surroundings at this session! I am grateful Abby was so willing to dance and run and sway for these photos! I think they capture her joyful yet calming personality!
